Application launchers, are utilities or applications that take up some of the slack when the dock gets overloaded or lets you down. Like the OSX dock they store information on your favourite applications so you don't have to hunt them down but they are easily to hand.

At macmend.com we use a number of these kinds of application launchers for productivity, ease of use and mainly because we don't like the dock.

Which ones to we like the best is hard to say as we use them all, we certainly like the idea of Sapiens as the new kid on the block, but you can't beat ...

Perhaps because we have always been a little uncomfortable with Safari...Here at macmend we decided to try out Chrome full time and so far haven't looked back.

We recommend turning off all the things goggle does to check what you are doing and sending back any info to google, this speeds Chrome up even more.

"URLs with the file type "file:" are not supported." This error message is common with the new installation of Lion but is easily explained and fixed: It is occurring because of the Apple backupd daemon for Time Machine to fix it: Connect/plug-in and designate a different external HD as Backup volume. Then plugged in the original disc (its best tested on a different mac first) The mac with OSX Lion should recognise it and the erro message will no longer come up.

We moved our site moved from XOOPS cms and for our forums moved to SMF, which is a good forum but we find over complicated and in the process of updating from version 1 to 2 its not getting it right. So we moved our forums to bbPress here ( we are still waiting for a good mac theme for this). then back to SMF for a while It was then we hit on MyBB and have stuck with that, its open source, its stable and secure and we like it, find us at www.macmend.com/forums Heres the list 1.
