desktop icons blink ever 1min
Hi -

Ever since I updated to 10.4.10 on my G4 every min or so the files and folders (including the hard drive icon) disappear and come back. When this happins any open folder closed. When I am in an application it hesitates.

I have tried deleting prefs, finder, printing etc, I have repaired permissions, verified the disk. If I long in as a different user it\'s fine. Has anyone experienced t his or know the solution, its driving me nuts!

Here is a recent report of my errors:

This is a finder problem and you could try dumping the finder prefrences

but what else do you have launching at startup, I for example have had similar problems with a microsoft mouse driver that updated and reinstalled fixed the finder problem.

how do I remove the startup items? When I drag the items out they still exist?

Also I have two Librarys - one is on the hard drive and one is in Woods.

the items are:

Adobe version cue
HPIO
HP trap monitor
M-Audio PCI audio helper
Net-update

Thanks sooo much for your response!

startup holding the shft key is a safe start this is a good sign. if you look in system preferences under the blue apple menu, then go to \"Accounts\" and then click the login items tab you will see all the applications that you have set (consciously or when they were installed) to load at startup

can you list these here please

whether they are ticked or not just means whether they show...all the items in this list are applications launching at startup

I would renew them all if possible or if you can\'t take them out....the most likely culprits are the scanner, stuffit or MuVo
