To do this it used to be you had to create a mini web page and save it as a web archive, then find the webarchives for mail signatures in the mail folder and overwrite one....not anymore

You've seen those cool signatures for outlook on a pC that have a little button logo on them or the ones with skype telephone in them and more, so get yourself a copy of:

signature profiler

http://www.littleknownsoftware.com/sigpro/

SignatureProfiler is a plugin for Apple's Mail application that adds missing features from the way that signatures are handled and managed with your outgoing mail messages.
In the end we found a solution. All printers had to be installed and set up from an admin account, the printer also had to be set in the page set up of any application printing to it.

Normally we print solutions, but have found an intermittent problem across mac printer set up, we have found this mainly with OSX 10.4 but others have also found it with 10.5. It also occurs across different printer manufacturers, different printers and different connections.

It is the dreaded - 9672 error

Some say you must install the printer from an admin acount, others deleting all files and reinstalling helps, but it doesn't we can have two macs set up the same but one will work and one will give a -9762 error.

macmend was told on the apple boards this error means the protocol is not acceptable, so if you have connected vis bonjour, it means this printer wont work with bonjour. Only thing is we have found a printer the Epson A2 4450 where it wont accept any protocol.

Does anyone know anymore about this error -9672 or can list their solution.

I was struggling to put google ads in my website forums, and found a few links and topics on other sites to help me with this, but they all involved altering html or php code on my theme and although this worked on the topic writers theme it didn't on mine and I was struggling. Mostly it just ended breaking the look of the site

However the ads were important as Google Adsense money from click through helps pay for my server hosting along with paypal donations.

Then I found this Mod for universal headers and footers and the adsense code works perfectly in them, if you are struggling to add Google Adsense to your smf site then try this mod here:

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=351
Its always good advice to back up your work and EMCs Retrospect is one of the premier tools to do this on a mac, though now there are a few more than before, including Leopards time machine.

Something we recommend with Retrospect is to make a copy of the config file found in:

/Library/Preferences/Retrospect

A number of times using retrospect 6.1 we have had chunk errors where this config file corrupted, we just replaced it with the copy we had made at the initial and later set ups (not forgetting to make a copy of that too once it had been used to replace the corrupt file.

We have in the past done this on a broader scale...once you think you have a stable OS, by this we mean you aren't going to be adding vast amounts of software to your set up, make a copy of your preference folder... /Users/yourusername/preferences. When later you have application problems, renaming your present preference file and replacing it with the stable back up one can work wonders.

The first thing to do is restart your mac to see if the problem goes away.

You can also restart with the shift key depressed and this starts your mac in safe mode, if things are OK now it means something you installed or added has caused a problem

If you still have problems after a restart, you need to track things down.

think when did my mac/this app/this utility work last? Between then and now what have I or someone else altered by deleting or installing?

try fixing permissions:

find disk utility in your utilities folder, launch it and then highlight your hard disk, click on repair disk permissions and let it run its course. Observe carefully if permissions are fixed and which ones.

then resart your mac but immediately at the chime press the Apple Key and the "S" key, hold these down until typed style writing appears on a balck screen.

At the prompt (when the type ends) usually a line ending in a # type fsck -f and hit return, the computer will runa file check and tell you if there are problems and itf it can or has fixed them. If their are problems and whether it fixes or not, when it has finished type fsck -f at the next prompt. do this until it either says Macintosh HD appers to be OK or tells you your disk cannot be reapired.

then restart

if you tried fsck -f in single user mode (thats the white type on black background after starting with apple key and S key depressed) and it has not fully repaired you need a disk utility like disk warrior. . . . check the blog for recommended disk utilities.
