Just Got First Mac.. G4 .. Sometimes would Start and other times Dead when you push Boot Button.. Connections seem ok
Anyone got a step to take to check Why sometimes it just dose nothing when you hit Start (Boot) Button on frount.
It Has two Hard Drives, Dual Core (I think), Two Disc Drives, one Internal and one External. Useing a PC keyboard is only non Mac Item but Works ok when it kick's off.

What I Have Got in more Detail:

Apple Power Macintosh G4 Dual 450 Mac 2 gig 2 hardrives. I think the hard drives are 90 Gb and 40 Gb, It also has a
second external drive (CD/DVD) as well as the internal..Presently running OSx.1 and Windows Explorer ? which dosent stay loaded (Drops out after few min) Have no Start up disk or Software disk for machine.. Need to get on line to download what ever is available.

It a desktop, Blue with the Clear plastic handels. If you need me to dig some numbers off the back or motherboard whould be happy to do so.. It started alright after I received and the all of a sudden while I was digging up info and tried to boot it.. nothing happens, then later I just for shit's and giggles, tried it again and Wala, it started fine.. although seems I had to keep my finger on the start button for a couple of seconds to kick in (Don't know if that means anything, anyway, week or so later tried it sitting in same place and undestrubed and No Boot.. still that way.. cord is plugged in and all connectors seem tight.. Hard drive on top is loose but I have'nt moved it since it last worked..It has USB and DSL connectors and only 4 slots with one filled (Video Card).. Suppose to have
2 GB of Ram and I think I confirmed that when it was running. I have always been a PC man up to now.. I am a Recording studio and started useing Protools.. I love it and want to get it up on a Mac which is what most good protools engineers are use to.. Be happy to answer any questions. I am Running OSx.1 and Windows Explorer (Which will not stay loaded I think because of the OS Upgrade)

Ok two possibilities, 1. the cpu battery may need replacing, thats the little lithium battery that sits on the motherboard.

    2. The Power management Unit may be giving up, but you could try resetting it.
